Take 5 minutes to tidy up your email inbox by deleting unwanted emails and filing the rest.
How to do it:
Set a timer for five minutes and start at the top of your inbox. Skim each subject line and delete emails that you no longer need, one at a time (this prevents you from accidentally deleting an important email that's sandwiched between a bunch of unimportant ones). Next, decide if you want to file your remaining emails. Set up folders if you don't have them already, and file all but the most recent emails. When the timer goes off, you can stop - or continue if you're motivated to keep at it.
Why it matters:
An organized inbox is a great mood booster! It allows you to see at a glance who you need to be in touch with and what you may need to follow up on. You can then focus on those tasks without wondering if there's something else you're forgetting. This lessens stress and improves productivity, which can help make for a more relaxed day.
