Daily Challenge

Sing or hum the "Happy Birthday" song "Two" times while washing your hands...

How to do it:
The next time you wash your hands today, get singing to make sure they are really clean! Start singing or humming the "Happy Birthday" song, wet your hands under warm water, and lather them up with soap. Rub your hands together, scrubbing the skin and all around the nails. When you're done with the song, sing it again from beginning to end, all while continuing to scrub. After the second round, rinse your hands well and dry them using a clean towel or an air dryer.

Why it matters:
We come in contact with a lot of germs throughout the day, from doorknobs and shopping carts to computer keyboards and money. Keeping hands clean helps stop the spread of germs, but a quick rinse or halfhearted lathering isn't going to do it. Infectious disease experts recommend scrubbing with soap and warm water for about 20 seconds - the same amount of time it takes to sing or hum the "Happy Birthday" song twice. By singing while you scrub, you ensure that you spend enough time washing those germs down the drain.

Let us know if you did it and found it worthwhile.
