Today is the official day for pampering your pet with a little extra love and affection to show them just how much you care.
Did you know that most households in the United States have at least one pet? Approximately 39% of US households own at least one dog, and 33% own at least one cat. Pets provide wonderful companionship and can actually help decrease your blood pressure and stress.

for February 20th


1839 - Anti-dueling law was passed by US Congress. The famous duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr which resulted in Hamilton's death may have helped the anti-dueling cause.

1872 - In New York City the Metropolitan Museum of Art opens.

1873 The University of California opens its first medical school in San Francisco, California, dedicated to saving lives, and improving health.

1951 "The African Queen", starring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, opens at the Capitol Theatre in New York City.

  1992 -   Ross Perot says he'll run for President on Larry King Show as an Independent. He requested supporters to get his name on the ballot in all 50 states.
