Today is...
International Dance Day
It’s International Dance Day! Today is a celebration of a truly unique art form. Dancing has been a part of human culture since the beginning of our history. Through the ages, people have used dance for artistic expression, celebration, prayer, and entertainment.
An NGO called the International Theatre Institute founded International Dance Day in 1982. Every year on April 29th (the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet), the organization promotes the importance of dance education. Learn more about this important campaign on the official International Dance Day site.
To celebrate International Dance Day, book tickets for an upcoming performance, share your favorite dance video on Facebook, and break out your best dance moves!

Reflections on Life "One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity."

--Albert Einstein
